Congratulations to all who participated and read along. Give the story after the Captivity of Babylon. During the captivity, we have two prophets: Daniel and Ezekiel As Jeremiah prophesied, so it came to pass. 70 years after captivity, the Persian Empire arose and overtook Babylon. Cyrus the King issued an edict allowing Jews to return to their home. They returned under three waves during the Persian Empire. Once with Zerubbabel to rebuild the Temple, once with Ezra who ushered in a spiritual revival, and once with Nehemiah who rebuilt the walls. These events are described in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. During this time, we hear of three prophets who prophesied: Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. Introduce them. May the Lord grant us a holy and blessed Pascha week |
